Zingerman's deli reports on their bakehouse website that they are experimenting with a soap ingredient to enhance their baked goods. Zingerman's has been known for their "know fat" honest to goodness baking style and continuing on that theme, they now introduce their first baked good that revives the use of good ol' LARD as a key ingredient. That place is incredible - I recall hitting critical mass with food quantity, grease and starch and then getting amped up on Dancing Goat coffee, which made a Starbucks double espresso seem like a cup of lukewarm sanka.
