Why Tuesday?
I know politics aren't often discussed here at the badpuppet... as a matter of fact, this may be the first time. So here goes: I ask you, "Why Tuesday?". Why do we vote on a Tuesday? Does this make any sense? Perhaps it did, but maybe not now. There are some folks here who are dedicated to the cause of changing the day of the week that we vote:

(Is linking from one blog to another a bad idea? Is that like looking in those endless mirror reflections at the barber shop? Too late, I've already done it)
If you go check out the blog, look for an entry regarding US Senator from MI Debbie Stabenow. There's a video clip of Bob (filmed by Claudia) asking the Senator this very question. I then edited and posted the result. Check it out if you're curious, or you just miss Claudia's 'cackle' . Think about it... Why Tuesday?.......

I know why. Voting was made on Tuesday so that the farmers and other workers of that time could leave on Monday (Sunday was church day and still is) and arrive to vote in time for Tuesday. I agree it is not valid now, we have cars and things to get us to places faster these days. That's what I understand.

There was a ruckas here in your hometown (and Chuck D.'s) Hempstead where there is still a good percentage of Orthadox's who could not go out Tuesday night 'cus it was the Sabbabath (All right now!!!) and their candidate lost, 'cus, well, no one could vote for them, or leave the house or shave or buy shoes, (loose)meat or fixin's
