Shadow Art Fair
Every summer, Ann Arbor is host to the Ann Arbor Art Fair. For me, it's good and bad. The primary 'bad' element is the fact that it becomes sort of like a shopping mall, complete with the types who occupy them. It makes one feel a bit sad for the prospects of mankind, but the people-watcher in me is plenty happy - there is much human silliness to observe. Last summer, Ypsilanti became home to an art fair of it's own; the Shadow Art fair. It puts the "Art" into Art Fair. True artists with truly inspired and inspirational wares. There have been 3 installments so far: last summer, this past winter, and a few weeks ago. I took this photo at the winter installment. This was off to the side of one of the vendor tables and got my attention; the morbid curiosity of wanting to know more about what a "gently eaten" puppet looks like to the better of me. It appears that the puppets were gutted and all that's left is the hide or puppet skin. I suppose then that the Shadow Art Fair also emphasizes the darker side of art. I did not buy the puppets. Other folks have taken better pictures. You can find some here.

I would be honored to join Gently Eaten Puppet. If we had backup female singers, we could be: Gently Eaten Puppet and the Marionettes.
